Clapit is the talent discovery app that crowdsources professional and amateur actors straight into film & TV roles. The two winners of clapit’s “Love, Song & Power” film open call will perform speaking roles in the feature film “Love, Song & Power” by filmmaker Erik Krefeld.
All people ages 16+ who are legal residents of the USA are eligible to enter. No prior acting experience is required. There is no charge to download clapit or enter the contest. IMPORTANT: Clapit reserves the right to disqualify any Entrant in breach of the Official Rules which you should read on clapit.com.
To audition please improvise one of the following character breakdowns in your 20 second video audition:-
OPTION 1 – Steve (male role)
Steve is a stage hand and works on a union film set. He responds to a request from Violet to move a mic line, but he’s just a PA – and must explain to her the meaning of union rules that govern his working on a film. Although he is not permitted to move anything, he still wants to be in Violet’s good graces- so he moves it anyway, while explaining (to her) that he could get into “big trouble” with his production manager, if anyone should see him. Improvise this scene!
OPTION 2 – Jessie (female role)
Jessie works as an intern for the Chamberlain Office, a well-known marketing and PR firm. One day, she “bumps” into Trevor in the employee lounge, on Trevor’s first day working at the firm. After Jessie introduces herself, she gives Trevor her perspective on one of Chamberlain’s current clients. Improvise this scene!
