To audition please improvise one of the following character breakdowns:
Option 1: Peggy (Female role)
You are placing a video call to the on call- crisis counselor by the direction of your therapist, whom you will not be able to see for a few days. You are distraught over ANOTHER relationship that has gone down in flames. You are crying and struggling to figure out why this keeps happening. You are impulsive and launch into a monologue regarding the last couple of relationships and why they “went wrong”. You are the kind of person that shares “too much” and falls hard in a relationship. Improvise this scene.
Option 2: Kevin (Male role)
You are placing a video call to the on-call crisis counselor by the direction of your anger management therapist. You are a construction worker and furious with your foreman for treating you unfairly. The foreman and rest of the crew went to the local deli for lunch, but you stayed back because you are struggling with the impulse to punch your foreman. You are trying very hard to do things differently and you don’t want to lose your job or get ANOTHER assault charge. You launch into a monologue about what a “jerk” your foreman is and how great it would be to “give him a good smack”. Improvise this scene.
Option 3: Jerry (Male or female)
You are placing a video call to the on-call crisis counselor by the direction of your therapist. You are an actor who has booked your first really substantial role playing against name actors. You are having a panic attack and hiding in a closet off of set to place this call. You are crippled by self doubt and the belief you aren’t as talented as the famous actors on set. You have been studying your lines for a week and “had them down”, but you are convinced you will freeze and forget them when shooting your scenes, thus “blowing your big break”. Improvise this scene.
